Our Story
Founder’s Note
Fashion has always been part of my story. From a young age in Belgrade, surrounded by music, books, and strong women, I learned to love the things that last. As a classically trained pianist, I see beauty in rhythm, discipline, and timelessness — qualities I bring into Mera Silk.
My journey took me from New Zealand to India, where I spent a decade immersed in the world of textiles, craft, and luxury design. It was there, in the land of silk, that I deepened my respect for natural fibres and the artistry behind them. When I returned home to New Zealand in 2019, I felt a calling to create a brand that brought silk into everyday life. Elegant, versatile, and accessible.
Mera Silk is built on the belief that fashion should be meaningful, enduring, and empowering. I don’t believe in fast fashion. I believe in clothing that tells a story, carries heritage, and is designed to move gracefully with you through every season of life.
I look to my my muses: my mother, my grandmother, and Caroline Bessette-Kennedy, to remind me daily that true style is not loud, but lasting. Through Mera Silk, I hope to share that philosophy with women everywhere.
